Earth Peace Systems on Biomass Energy

I have been researching renewable energy sources and fuels for about a decade and I must say that wood gasification may be the easiest source of solar energy I have ever seen.  Like most forms of hydrogen energy this source of fuel is not new.  In 1940-45 every major automotive manufacturer was producing wood gasifiers for vehicles and tractors because the war effort was using all the available oil supplies.  A simple attachment and slight modification and a person could be running down the road on wood instead of petroleum.

Essentially what happens as you heat wood is it gasifies into H2 and CO, which is essentially methane gas.  Methane can be made into methanol when cooled which turns it into a liquid fuel for storing.  Also known as natural gas and slightly modified to become propane, this versatile form of fuel has been used by humans as a renewable energy source for thousands of years.  Could you imagine running your car, heating your home, running a generator, and cooking all your meals on less than 15 lbs of biomass per day?  Your biomass source does not have to be from wood.  Some people use yard waste such as fallen leaves and grass clippings.  In some parts of the world dried manure is used to derive the natural gas energy source.  What you must understand is that all biomass is stored solar energy!  We are simply using the natural gas from biomass that will otherwise create additional methane in our atmosphere which accelerates global warming 20 times faster than CO2.

For a manual on how to build your own wood gasifier I recommend searching for them on YouTube first to see it for yourself, then Google search "FEMA wood gasifier manual pdf", Its good stuff I promise.  Peace
