This group is for individuals who are interested in environmental research, news and events at the University of Minnesota and beyond. The University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment (IonE) is dedicated to discovering solutions to the earth’s most pressing environmental problems through cutting-edge research, world-class leadership development and innovative collaboration. This group in interested in a wide-range of environmental topics including renewable energy, climate change, water, land use, health, the Mississippi River and more. Partners include the Initiative for Renewable Energy and the Environment - IREE, the Global Landscapes Initiative, River Life and Climate Central. The director and fellows are available for expert and media requests in the areas of climate change, renewable energy, policy, landscape and ecosystem change, freshwater, environmental health, agriculture and more.

Climate change. Population growth. Widespread pollution. Increasing consumption. Fossil fuel depletion. Loss of biodiversity. Degraded land and water.

Complex environmental problems have taken center stage in the early 21st century, and will present enormous challenges to our economy, security and natural resources for generations to come. These issues cut to the very foundation of our civilization. And they can’t be solved with business-as-usual thinking.

It’s time for something different.

That’s why the University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment (IonE) is taking a fresh approach. We’re discovering new solutions to the world’s most pressing environmental problems through innovative research, leadership development and partnerships.

To: All of my energy friends

I am writing you an idea to achieve sustainable evolution
and development for man kind. If you accept this idea you may write me your
opinion and inform your friends too, to try for it.

What forces us to think for new methods?

As you all have been informed through media, atomic disaster
in Japan these days and the ones happened former in other regions of our
planet, there seems an urgent need to substitute wise methods of energy
production for man needs. I like most of you believe that renewable energies
are better substitute for polluting methods of energy production. I introduce
my idea to you all. I hope it will be analyzed by all the countries that can
afford for this idea.

The benefits of the method:

If we produce compressed air by wind energy in any place
that there are appropriate wind velocities, especially in deserts of the world.
We will have many benefits for our planet. Harmony will govern on our
environment if we use such ideas. Our evolution will continue, we will be able
to achieve sustainable development for all nations.

The processes:

Compressed air produced in deserts and appropriate locations
could be stored in under ground reservoirs. This process causes a small
pressure difference between deserts and other wind farms and big cities, lakes,
seas, oceans using this idea.  Compressed
air and air pressure difference produced in this process will deliver some good
opportunities to us.

A -The
mentioned compressed air in under ground reservoirs can be transferred through
appropriate pipe nets to cities.

B -In
cities compressed air can be used to deliver us mechanical and electrical
energy need of our cities.

C –
Compressed air can be injected in to special compressed vessels to be used by
our transport vehicles and boats, etc.

D –
Compressed air delivering its pressure energy will be released in to atmosphere
in cities. It will replace polluted air of cities.

E –
Compressed air yields us a good amount of fresh water as by product in above
mentioned big wind farms in deserts. The fresh water produced will be enough to
have some new settlements in deserts.

F –
High vapor content air transferring to deserts will cause more precipitation
there while more fresh water can also be produced by compressors.

G -
Oceans and seas have big potentials of wind energy too. Countries like Canada,
United States, Russia, India, China and many other countries can gain many
times more energy from wind potential energy from the seas and oceans
surrounding them too.

H-
One of pollutants of our planet is the exhaust gas of transport vehicles. Using
compressed air

For our vehicles working with compressed
air will prevent these pollutions to enter to our atmosphere.

I –
This idea can produce more jobs than the traditional forms of energy.

Question:

Atomic science can be used for
many humanistic purposes. Why we are not using renewable energies like solar,
wind, biomass and other renewable ones?
I believe we can substitute renewable energies not only instead of atomic
reactors producing electricity but also power plants using fossil fuels
too.

Hello! Your program is very interesting to me. But, unfortunately, I cannot be present on this celebration. And mentally, I with you. With your help I, would like to come into contact to leading experts and will share the researches in the field of bio-energetics. My calculations and experiences assume that biological synthesis is possible in accessible conditions.
The theoretical substantiation of the process, extending Hydrogen, with the subsequent transition He3 → C9 → B8 → O13, define a cycle filled with the same Hydrogen.
These are the local microprocesses giving the corresponding net energy of synthesis of charges. Development of conditions of synthesis leads to stable Oxygen -16(!)
I trust to America and is possible, sometime, I will be in your country.
