I read about T. Boon Pickens and his plan to build huge Wind farms across the high plains from Texas to Canada. This is already going on in the Texas panhandle. He, Mr. Pickens, is quoted as saying that Texas is the Saudi Arabia of potential Wind power. There is one problem though not mentioned in the stuff I have read. Texas is not connected to the North American Power Grids. All electricity generated in Texas must stay in Texas. This is because the power... Read More
I feel that sustainablity is as much about each of us doing what we can in curtailing waste as it is about each of us doing what is avalable where we are! Adding insolation, replacing lightbulbs with CFL and LED lamps (and turning them off when not using them), LEARNING TO COMBINE ERRAND TRIPS AND WORK CLOSER TO HOME SO WE REDUCE MILES DRIVEN. Anemoi-electric, anemoi is the greek source Wind like hydro is water, Solar-voltaic & thermal, bio-... Read More
I'm interested in learning if any of your members have had experience with alternative energy sources for commercial buildings. For example, Wind power or solar power as an alternative energysource to conventional public utility services. Being in the commercial real estate industry, my objective is to find different ways to achieve savings on energy expenses. While I've heard about solar power and wind power use in general, and the use of these technologies for residentia... Read More
ith our energy crisis getting worse day by day, it’s up to all of us to work together find alternative energy solutions. There is no one energy solution. It will take a variety of alternative energy and renewable energy sources. Think about transportation…The idea of electric cars is appealing, but at this time, we don’t have the resources to recharge all of the electric cars if everyone had... Read More
We're up and running, looking for solutions to our energy crisis. Looking forward to discussions on all types of alternative energy and renewable energy ideas including... solar power, Wind power, biodiesel, electric cars, hydrogen and hydrogen fuel cells, geothermal energy and more. Whether it's solar panels on our roof generating solar energy or one or two Wind turbines on our property generating Wind energy... we can all do something. One family may drive using biodiesel...
