I believe that humanity has to overcome the political problems... That is pretty hard to do because it is entrenched with the very money we seem to have to deal with.
Imagine ALL the things money can't buy...
Only through a MACHINE economy based on available resources (underground, water, air, and of course, seeds) can we continue to prosper.
We no nonger need to strip Earth of her biosphere-ic resources. We already HAD the technology (as far as I can see and search) to support ALL of us with OUT doing even a fraction of the eco damage we (collectively) are doing now.
This is because the "system" kinda like tries to brainwash us into buying their brand, at whatever costs they are willing to invoke.
Bank bail outs and wars (even though I don't understand 'em all) costed trillions... Trillions enough to have got by with renewable energy "good enough"!
Sure, solar and wind ain't "as good" as FF's (that is they don't have even 1/10th the energy density), however, we ALL knew that renewables are inexhaustible, and that they always get better as new tech is discovered.
I'll even go as far as promoting the fissioning of spent fuel and thorium (that is, reprocess spent fuel from inherently unsafe light water reactors the world uses today to START UP thorium reactors in a molten salt mix... Or LFTR, so as to power humanity with about 1/100,000th the wastes of FF's and even 1/100th the wastes of "conventional" (I like to call them "ego") reactors that rely upon WATER for cooling... We all know what water wants to do when it get too hot... it turns to steam, which they account for... it turns to H2, which they hope it never does, and it evaporates, hence why "conventional nuclear" is soooooooooo over engineered, because it has to be, cause it goes against the "grain". When water evaporates through cracks cause by some unseen event, the core melts down... Hmmmm, which is a big deal, you know like strontium and cesium, which have half lives long enough to do damage around the globe... But what's worse is the utterly stupid wastes lying nearby... because ONLY like 1/2 of 1% is actually "burned", that is, there is still (almost) ALL the "cores worth" times whatever amount of time they've been storing it (roughly). Soooo, if they replenish "spent" fuel every year or so, and if the plant was in operation for half a decade.... NOW we know which is more dangerous without a blanket of cooling water!
I'm against these physically inherently unsafe reactors (yes, the kind "we'all" use today).
HOWEVER... what would you rather deal with, a pile of coal ash that's a million times as big as today's nuclear waste (that is rather greatly radio-toxic for hundreds of thousands of years)...
Or a nuclear waste pile that is only 1/100th of that millionth (because it was "burned properly") and that is only radioactive for 300 years (again, because it was fissioned properly)?
You see, THAT'S why I will not go against the thorium reactor... They "did it in the 1960's (at ORNL, look it up) and proved that "all that" is possible...
So, what is "all that"?...
All that replaces many Billions of tons worth of XSCO2 (from Fossil Fuels, the great) and many thousands of tons worth of conventional nuclear waste... with... get this...
Just 5,000 tons of thorium.
All you math minded people out there know... that's more than a million to 1.
Chapter II
Just why would any economic "world" allow for this million to one reduction of power production profits?...
THEY DON'T !!!
Economics 101 states that things must be made as cheaply as possible to compete, and that there is a turn around. Money, itself, is created out of thin air, and out of the need for debt (just as every dollar says).
Hence ever increasing deficits?
Chapter III
Use the power of thorium fission in a molten mix, so it CAN'T melt down, (and thus is inherently safe by natural physical laws, such that it present just a power problematic "cool down", if any natural, or man made emergency happens)...
Use it too power... ... ...
Advanced machine automated factories that mass produce ALL the parts to GaAs Fresnel solar concentrated PV arrays. (Repeat last sentence). That is the eco-nomic and the eco-logical ticket, as they as TWICE as efficient, and require only 1/1000ths of the (somewhat) rare material, gallium, the "metal that melts in your hands".
That means, less than half the "un converted light" into infrared (a no-no in a world with XSCO2) as with "normal" si-crystalline panels which are, by the way, dark and HOT.
We must post mount them (because bulldozing hundreds of thousands of SQUARE MILES of land... is also a no-no).
Chapter IV
The molten salt reactor can "do all that", but it can't do all that and make profits.
Machines are being used (as I speak) to replace jobs... Why not use machines (that make the solar GaAs fresnel arrays) to make a hundred thousand square miles of solar installation jobs for humanity??!!
If people made them, they would be too expensive and fossil fuels will thus continue to delete themselves (and possibly our biosphere) at an ever exponentiating and (sadly, truly observable) rate!
Chapter V
Sadly (for our personal "monetary dream ambitions") machines WILL replace just about all of our jobs, "Luddite" laws, not with standing.
You see, the totally efficient (but still some what questionable) thorium nuclear idea might be needed to power the diffuse solar idea, which is needed to "grasp on to" the final economic deaththrows of an obsolete beast, kinda like when hydrogen, and all the other lighter than iron elements, are exhausted in a star before supernova. This last amount of "mega install jobs" will fuse the "new elements" needed to create a system that no longer needs money, which is now (like iron in the star) the great inhibitor.
Yet, we need a mini "state" that is willing to USE money (from EXPORTS of concentrated GaAs solar Fresnel arrays) to further the "machine capability", the "wanting to" get rid of manual labor jobs! This "state" must be owned equally by the citizens! The more GaAs exported (for like pennies on the dollar) the more machines (and thus necessary material goods) the "state" has. Eventually, "other states" opt in to this co-op of "very well to do slaves", and machine mass produce the best battery storage for the grid, and still others concentrate on the best batteries for electric vehicles...
Soon, the world opts in to the idea that MONEY is no longer necessary, and thus creates....
Chapter VI
The machine economy based on available resources.
No more trashing Earth's biosphere... just the great depths underground (for mining). All other needed are just water, air, seeds, scientific principles and aspiration to NEVER let the future slip away as the ages of money always deemed so with the growth of mental detrimental seeds of the past!
Chapter VII
Hundreds of billions of people live rather uncluttered in highrise (and architecturally beautiful) three dimensional cities which are made out of graphine, a strongest and (then) most plentiful of omni-building materials. Kinda like giant "printers" build "everything (including meat) from the molecular ground up. Trees are sparingly cut down for artwork only. Great spaces "below" are for the wild and for ALL the sports and recreations. Unlimited virtual space within each home also contribute to exercise and good health via the obviously coming un-console games...
Food, including meat is also "grown", "the old fashioned way" under wavelength specific (and very efficient) leds which mimic the sun during all its seasons within the interiors of the massive 3d cities.
Mobility is as easy as a cell phone app away... Just find a friend (or other place) and click "Go there!" under the list of choices, get in your electric car (like thingy) and it will attach to vertical cables, to go up or down (the many hundreds of levels), or to horizontal cables (to go to other "wings" of the city building) and transverse the old fashioned way, on the many different pathways within and on ground. They are small enough to fit in sectional "arrays" that are propelled by a maglev type system for global navi... Soon, the people realize that it is OUR destiny to colonize the future...
And the Space Based Race initiates exponentiation into the exciting and unlimited NOT so final frontier...
