what you might do if you could
Posted On 03/04/2009 01:09 AM by everbuckman

hello all, kinda new to this computer stuff.but here it is in a nut shell.the idea is that first if you have land 1 acre or more you can build and aquaponic system its not hard just look it up.If you have moey it is even better lol.but in this man made system you make a self substining eco system in wich you farm eddible fish (fresh water) in a rain harvisting systeam (no clorine or city water) in turn feeds the plants wich produce food (leafy and herbs) good for tomatoes and peppers and others.no chemicals, the plants turn the water back to clean water and it goes back to the fish thus you have a eco system.

this at just an acre size can produce thousands of dollars in plant foods.plus the fish (depends on choice of fish and market) plus food fresh food on the table yum.

now some said to me he was thinking of going into the composting biz.would go right into this plants leave folage and fallen fruits and veggies thet make great compost.and just think wear ever u have room you can put in solar paniles wind turbines to collect energy and if u are really lucky u might be able to heat with the sun all your water with in the system.

wow self sufficent .there are many other aspects and apps in this form and all green earth freindly.

god knows I would If I could

All you need is water, land, and of course, money. Actually I know of a few places where this is being tried to varying degrees of success. In one case, a ranch family in Ruby Valley, Nevada has been doing this since the 1930's not out of any environmentalism but because they are so isolated that sometimes getting fresh or fresh/frozen food from the grocery is just not possible. Of course the fish were there before they were but they manage to supply a large part of their own produce; this without using any electrical power. At an altitude over 7,000 ft. it's easy to keep stuff frozen for months.
