Hello all !! I'm Trying to put all the People that is interested in Printed solar panels together,to do research into the process of printing our own solar panels. There is alot of info out there,we just have to sniff out the true from the false! It is hard for ! person to do it by himself,so I'm asking all the interested partys to do research, and report their findings to us, so we can try our hand @ this promising technolgy< if you can help please do so,and together we can figure this out !!! Hi FossilFreak - Thin Film PV panel is certainly the future of photovoltaics. There are companies that manufacture & sell the production equipment to produce these thin film (printed) panels. The problem is that the recipe of the chemicals & rare minerals required seem to continue to be a trade secret. The general process is very simlialr from one manufacturer to another for the low efficiency output of approx. 8%+/- for a panel - for the most up to date panels with a 12% plus eff. - the process & manufacturing equipment is more secret. The golden egg of the thin film panels is to produce the panels to be equal to the cost of utility produced electrcity. Untill then the silicon based PV panels will continue to rule. At present - a thin film (printed) PV system requires twice the square footage of roof space to put out the same wattage as a silicon PV system.
